So it is National Coffee Day and I’m sure most are celebrating with a cup of joe in a darling “But First Coffee” mug.  Here at The Style Gathering we are offering up a little less traditional way to celebrate the day of Juan Valdez and friends with a Coffee Cocktail using two local companies that I love, Icebox Coffee, an amazing, super convenient cold brew coffee and Savor Salt Company. Savor Salt Company is the vision of two young ladies here in Birmingham who are making small batch flavored salt by hand using the best ingredients. I love using their salts to add an extra flavor dimension to my favorite recipes.

Savor Salt Company Vanilla Icebox Coffee Martini
serves 2

3 ounces Vanilla Icebox Coffee
3 ounces Tito’s Vodka
2 ounces Half & Half
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Simple Syrup
1 tablespoon Savor Salt Company Vanilla Bean Salt

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour the first four ingredients over ice and shake well. Moisten the rim of two martini or coupe glasses with simple syrup. I added Icebox coffee to our tradtional simple syrup to add more flavor. Spread Vanilla Bean Salt on a small plate and dip the glasses in the salt. Pour the shaken cocktail in the glasses and enjoy!
