Spring It On

This weekend kicked off the beginning of spring and even though the temperatures took a dip again, I am ready to get on with the gettin on.  I’m ready to ditch the sweaters and boots and blanket scarves and embrace all of the newness that is spring.

Blush continues to be a hot color for spring and it can stand alone or be treated as a neutral.  It tends to play well with other colors so if you don’t have the desire to go full on “Steel Magnolia Bridesmaid,” you can work this trendy hue into any outfit with your accessories, or layer pieces in pink tones like the tank and trench coat pictured above.  Makeup and nail polish are also a fun way to experiment with seasonal color trends without making a huge investment.

Right now I am totally digging Bobbi Brown’s Bare Pink lipstick with Nougat gloss.  This is the closest I have come to achieving a nude lip without looking washed out.  I also recently picked up an Ulta brand nail polish in Parlez Vous Francais while standing in the check out line.  I know I am a sucker for the impulse buy, but I have been wearing it for about a month and it really is the perfect neutral with just a hint of a pink undertone.  Think Essie’s Ballet Slippers but better.

I have hooked you up with links for all of the blush and bashful goodness shown above as well as a few others below that would surely make Shelby proud…and Ouiser a little nauseated.  Oh and everything is under $100.

Happy Spring!
