I had almost decided to ditch this post, but a friend of mine asked me last night at our children’s choir performance when my next Target post was going to be.  Thanks Jamie for the nudge.

Next week is Spring Break and everyone in my house is going to be gone except me.  Tim’s girls are headed to the beach with their mama, my two are headed to NOLA with their grandparents and Tim is headed to Vegas for a conference.  There is not a bitter bone in my body knowing that I am going to have this house, and basically town, to myself.  I have big plans, I’m not exactly sure what they are, but they are BIG!

I’m sure most of you are headed out of town too, and if sunny and 75 is awaiting you at your final destination next week, I know you will be headed to Target for some last minute essentials. I thought I would hook you up with a few things that I have found recently at the Big Bull’s Eye in the Sky.

I bought the girls this beach bag which is huge and this bag reminds me of my much more expensive MarYsol bag.  We love Sun Bum sunscreen at our house because it smells awesome and Alice particularly loves the face stick for the fragrance and I love their SPF lip balm.  I have seen pricier versions of this tassel pouch in boutiques around town so I had to snatch up this one.  Since music is a must on any trip, I thought this Bluetooth speaker from Bauble Bar for Target was a way cool.  The t-shirt isn’t from Target but I could not resist!

Totally not beach related but if you are looking for a cute Easter Basket filler for your little girl check out these adorable band-aids.

The past 6 times Alabama has played LSU in Tiger Stadium I have been there. I have been there when it was freezing cold and when it is blazing hot. I have watched Alabama lose and pull out a win in the last minute in Baton Rouge. I have been to one game in Death Valley dead sober and pregnant and others not so much. However, one thing has remained consistent…those folks know how to put on a party, cook some amazing food and have a good time, win or lose. My friend Lauryn is from Baton Rouge and is an avid Tiger Fan, her husband Jim is the biggest Bammer ever, (see their Tuscaloosa Game Day House here) so every year Alabama plays down there we make the trek to Baton Rouge. With Lauryn and her mom Nancy acting as our ambassadors, we receive the warmest welcome and get to eat some of the best and most authentic Cajun food you have ever tasted.

Pastalaya, Jambalaya, Frog Leg Gumbo, Duck Gumbo, Traditional Gumbo, Grilled Quail, Ribs, Corndogs, Wings, Kabobs, Boudin…you name it, and the tailgate that we are privileged enough to get to hang out in, serves it up. This tailgate hosted by Turner Industries, has their own DJ spinning the tunes and begins their cooking process long before Les Miles wakes up, is serving up all types of gumbo as the game goes on and is still going strong long after us amateurs are in bed. It’s not just big games that this happens, it is every game and every year one lucky away game is chosen to be graced with the presence of “The Tail Gate.” I’m sure you might be thinking you have been to some fantastic tailgates with fancy spreads and a matrix of tents, but until you experience a dose of dem tigas you haven’t truly lived SEC football on game day.

So yes Aubs, for one brief moment I am jealous of you. But let’s get this clear, it is a brief and fleeting jealousy, and it is only because this weekend you get the chance to experience LSU on game day.

Roll Tide!
