Tim and I talk a lot about seasons of our lives as it relates to being a parent.  Our neighbors with two young feisty boys are in what we call “the thick of it.”  Currently I am in the “carpool” season of life and I am tired.  There is a reason why Truck Stop drink coolers are filled with Monster and AMP, and 5 Hour Energy drinks are not in short supply at the check out.  Driving is exhausting work.

Between us, Tim and I have four children that only have one activity each, and I have a ridiculous amount of help getting folks where they need to be, but three different schools and all of the add-ons make for multiple stops at the pump weekly.  Don’t get me wrong, conversations with my kiddos (or between kiddos), in the car can uncover lots of fun facts and details about their lives.  However, trips to the orthodontist (we have two in braces), prayer breakfasts, small groups, haircuts, practices, late night trips to the store for poster paper and on & on & on can wear you out.

Which brings me to my point.  Last year I was at the Bobbi Brown counter and the make-up artist talked me into buying the Illuminating Moisture Balm that she called “Cinderella Cream.”  I mean, Cinderella is young and beautiful and dewy, and last time I checked a horse drawn carriage is as welcome in a carpool line as a cell phone.  Thank you very much Bobbi. Gimme some of that.

You may wonder why it took me a year to blog about this, but honestly it made it to the back of my skincare drawer and, until my make-up artist friend Celine Russell came over for my yearly “make-up/product editing session,” I had forgotten about it.  She pulled it out and rubbed a little on the back of her hand and decided it was a product worthy of her discerning taste.  This balm can be used under makeup or just to accent areas that need a little highlighting like your cheekbones.  It gives you a dewy look with a pearl like glow, not a Dairy Queen frosted shimmer.  Oh, and it smells fantastic.  So if you are like me and need to feel a little more like a princess and a little less like an Uber driver when you catch a glimpse of yourself in the rearview, this might be the product for you.

Just to make sure I wasn’t alone in this, before I wrote this post I went online and read a ton of reviews.  It seems that everyone is in agreement.  It is a beautiful glow, a little goes a long way and it is worth the price tag.  Still skeptical? Go to your Bobbi counter.  I bet they will make you up a sample.

Happy 13th Birthday to my main man Judson! You’re my #1 passenger!
