I love getting my friends together, I love food and a good glass of bubbly and I love Jo Malone perfume.  So when Darla, the Jo Malone consultant at Saks in Birmingham asked me to do a home party I was all over it.  I’m not sure what I love most about her extensive line of fragrances.  Is it the endless combinations of scents to match any mood, season or occasion or is it the beautiful packaging and generous samples or is it that my husband once gave me a gross grain ribbon wrapped Jo Malone box that I opened to find my engagement ring?  Whatever it is the thought of the entire line of lotions and potions and perfumes being at my house made me giddy.  I invited my friends over, whipped up some Chicken Pasta Salad and Savory Crackers and chilled the champagne.  The Saturday morning of the party, while Darla and her team set up all of the fragrances, tied bows on boxes and gift bags, lit candles and pretty much turned my house into a Jo Malone haven, I stressed about how many, if any would show.  Anyone who has ever hosted a party, be it children’s clothes or jewelry or Tupperware knows the feeling.  However I guess I am not alone in my affection for the London based company.  A steady stream of friends strolled in and out from beginning to end.  Each picking out their own signature scents while enjoying a hand and arm massage.  One of my favorite combinations is Red Roses Body Oil with Pomegranate Noir Body Creme and Peony and Blush Suede Perfume.  Every time I see my friend that chose those fragrances I get a little closer to her and get an extra whiff.
