The Spring Dinner
at Stone Hollow Farmstead with Chef James Lewis
April 13, 2015

By Buffy York
If you live around Birmingham and you are in town this Saturday night you do not want to miss the annual Spring Dinner at Stone Hollow Farmstead, featuring Chef James Lewis of Bettola. Stone Hollow Farmstead is the mother ship behind the delicious casual lunch spot in Crestline, The Pantry, and is known for their amazing goat cheese and fresh juices. Chef Lewis is known for his commitment to the food he prepares, and the purveyors he works with are admired by foodies for their high standards.
Chef will be cooking campfire style and will roast a whole lamb from Leaping Waters Farm, as well as chicken. The root vegetables he prepares will be roasted in the ash from the fire, and all of the produce will be sourced locally from Habersham Farms and Stone Hollow. The “primal” technique of cooking over an open fire deepens the flavor profile of foods and careful selection of the wood and char used during the process creates more robust flavors. I can’t wait.
Tim and I will be heading out at Stone Hollow Farmstead this Saturday, April 18th around 4:30 for the meet and greet and tour of the farm. Sunset cocktails will be from 5:00 to 6:00 with generous amounts of handcrafted libations. The dinner bell will ring at 6:30. For more information and to purchase tickets click here.
