The Summit Shopping Center in Birmingham hosted the Junior League of Birmingham for their annual Shop, Save and Share Kick-off party last Wednesday night.  The backdrop for the party was the seven new stores that populate the corner of the center between Gus Mayer and Belk.  A modern seating area was set up and styled by West Elm and food and drinks were provided by Primeaux and Season’s 52, all tenants of The Summit.  I was on-hand blogging and posting live as part of the B-Metro Bloggers social media broadcast alongside Heather Brown of My Life Well Loved and Lauren Lockhart of LolaCharles.

The seven new boutiques are Kate Spade, Lilly Pulitzer, Kendra Scott, Calypso St. Barth, Tumi, J. McLaughlin and The Art of Shaving.  These retailers offer customers an array of clothing and accessories from preppy to casual chic and practical to luxurious.  Kate Spade and Lilly Pulitzer are respectively New York and Palm Beach Preppy.  Kendra Scott, a jewelry designer from Texas, has necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings for everyone in every color.  The girls of Kendra Scott encourage you to come and experience the Color Bar and create your own unique piece.  Just as it sounds, Calypso St. Barth is up-scale resort wear.  Their cozy cashmere and silk pieces make me want to eat pop corn and drink red wine Olivia Pope style.  Tumi, a premium line of luggage and accessories for business and lifestyle, has a piece of luggage to fit everyone’s needs and their associates are more than happy to demonstrate the correct way to maximize space when packing.  The most recent addition to The Summit is J. McLaughlin.  Focusing on style versus fashion is the J. McLaughlin way, and attention to detail, quality materials and timeless silhouettes are their trademark.  If you are looking to learn how to get the perfect shave The Art of Shaving is your next stop with an endless selection of razors, brushes and creams to ensure your face (or legs) are their absolute smoothest.

The Junior League’s Shop, Save and Share Card is one of several fundraisers the group does annually.  Cards can be purchased for $40 from several of the 500+ retailers who participate in the program.  Participating retailers offer customers 20% off purchases from October 22 to November 2, 2014.  Funds raised by The Junior League of Birmingham help to improve the lives of women and children in the Birmingham area.  Over 50 stores at The Summit are part of the Shop, Save and Share program.

B-Metro has provided me with compensation for this post and my appearance at the event.
However, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
