I was a sales rep in the pharmaceutical industy for over 15 years and I never had a dedicated home office space.  The shotgun seat of my car was the closest thing I ever had to a desk.  When I retired from my paying job, I decided that if I was going to be the CEO of this family I needed a work space.  One of my first posts on The Style Gathering highlighted how I made my pantry work double duty by becoming my home office, but the wi-fi didn’t work great in that space and I honestly gained five pounds working with the Ritz crackers and Cheez-Its in such close proximity.  A few weeks ago I staged a coup d’etat and took over the work-out/computer room and claimed it as my own.  I wanted a clean modern look with creams and gold tones so to freshen things up I painted the walls and desk the same as the existing trim color.  I also rounded up some random lamps and old furniture from the attic.  The lamps were updated with new lampshades from Village Firefly and I added new desk and decor accessories.  A classic oushak rug and an ultra cool gold stamped cowhide layered on top complete my new workspace.
